Rose deSmith Greenman (1899–1977) began drawing at the age of 71 after being diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. Between 1970 and 1977, she produced nearly two thousand drawings of flowers, trees, gardens, and domestic interiors before her practice ended abruptly. Today, her work is held in major public collections including the American Folk Art Museum.
